Former Mayor Tirso Lacanilao of the Municipality of Apalit, Pampanga, Philippines was gunned down by two unidentified gunmen in Calumpit, Bulacan, Philippines last July 31, 2008 at around 2:20pm. According to sources, the former Mayor and his bodyguard were on their way to Hagonoy, Bulacan that day when the incident happen.
Tirso "POGI" Lacanilao suffered multiple gunshot wounds while he is still inside his vehicle, he was rushed to the Sta. Cruz Hospital in Calumpit, Bulacan but declared dead on arrival.
According to witnesses, the gunmen were riding a single motorcycle and black bonnets. The suspects and motive of the said incident are still unknown, PNP investigation is still on going.

cabalen, everybody is innocent until proven guilty. we understand your sentiment, the people of Apalit are sad for the loss of the former Mayor Tirso Lacanilao but for now it is better if we leave the investigation to the PNP.
